The Chapati Kitchen (2018)

Known to Sikh's as Harmandir Sahib, the Golden Temple in Amritsar houses the worlds largest community kitchen that offers free meals known as langar every day to devotees and tourists. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week the community kitchen is run by sewadars (workers) who devote their time at the kitchens to help cook and deliver the food. Over 90% of the workers at the temple are volunteers, all of different ages. I visited the temple on the day of Guru Nanak's Jayanti's birthday where over 100,000 people were in attendance to celebrate the birth of the first Sikh Guru and was kindly granted access to photograph the kitchens.
